One of ARTI’s distinguished members – Dr. Priyadarshini Karve (Project Coordinator, Shell Foundation Scale-Up Project on Commercialisation of Improved Biomass Fuels and Cooking Devices in India), was at Drachten in Netherlands, from 4th July 2006 to 9th July 2006, for a woodstove workshop organized by Phillips. The Phillips woodstove, a novel design, is aimed to be another promising clean cooking device with added features of portability and convenience that would be useful to urban as well as rural users. Dr. Karve was invited to contribute her expertise in product development of the woodstove and participate in the brain-storming sessions on the same.
